I lived for a time on the south face of the Niagara Escarpment in Dundas, Ontario. The property ran up the escarpment in a series of small plateaus. I created a painting spot under a witchhazel grove about 2/3s of the way up to the CNR train tracks that ran along the side of the escarpment above our place. I would interpret what I was seeing as I looked through the trees all around me and south across the Dundas Valley to Ancaster. I was using oils on glass and transferring the result to watercolour paper. Here’s the result.
